Braden wins Ararat Junior Tour

Congratulations to Central Districts member Braden O’Shea on winning the Ararat Junior Tour in the under 17 Men category held over the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of May.

Braden started in terrific style by winning the stage 1 time trial over 10 kilometres. Braden posted a time of 14 minutes 14 seconds with an average speed of 42.2 kmph.

Braden then went on to win the second stage road race over 60kms. A fast finishing bunch of 11 riders came to the line with Braden at the front for a long time but was able to hold on for a solid win.

With plenty of points in the bank Braden required a top three finish in the third and final stage 60km road race to ensure overall victory. Once again a fast finishing bunch sprint was to eventuate but this time with 20 riders. Braden was able to grab the wheel of Godfrey Slattery in the sprint, who was the main rival for the general classification, and ensure that he finished close enough to protect his lead. Godfrey claimed the stage win and Braden third but this was enough for Braden to claim the Tour win.

Congratulations Braden on an outstanding effort.
